ASB (Associated Student Body)
     -Student Engagement & Finals Support
          -ASB approved funding to support student engagement during finals week, focused on wellness and creating opportunities for students to take breaks and stay connected during a high-stress period.
     -Student Advocacy & Policy Work
          -Passed a resolution supporting student participation on hiring committees, reinforcing the importance of student voice in institutional decision-making.
          -Contributed feedback to the Los Rios AI Task Force, with AI-related guidance and resolutions now approved across all four colleges and the Student Advisory Committee.
     -Elections & Leadership Transition
          -ASB/CAEB Board Candidate Forum scheduled (April 14, 12–3 pm, Student Center) to support upcoming student elections.
          -Continued planning for end-of-year transition and onboarding of new student leaders.
-CAEB (Campus Activities & Engagement Board)
     -Upcoming Student Programming
          -Hosting Movie Day (April 16, 12–3 pm, Student Center) featuring Zootopia 2, with snacks and games to encourage student participation and community-building.

          -Collaborating with ASB Senate to develop a monthly student newsletter to improve communication and awareness of student activities and resources.

          -Planning a team bonding event to strengthen collaboration and cohesion within the student leadership group.

-Approved Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) Midterm Report

-Just came back from the ASCCC Spring plenary!
-Friday the DAS task force completed our NAGPRA policy after 2.5 years of work
     -2 documents will be coming to the Academic Senate for approval
-Michael Angelone and Dyanne Marte will be presenting on the District Equity Student Success Committee (DESSC) Los Rios Artificial Intelligence Guidelines.

-Elections just completed (at 1 pm today); new Senators and officers take over at the Academic New Year (July 1)

-Candy Gram Fundraiser (part 3!) – delivery beginning week of May 4th

-Capital Project Updates
     -Davies Hall Modernization:
          -The project has completed Schematic Design and is now in Design Development
               -A student design forum was held on February 25, 2026
               -FM/IT/Site coordination meeting scheduled for April 8, 2026 and April 29, 2026.
               -Division of State Architect Pre-Application meetings held on March 31 and April 2, 2026
     -Science Building Replacement – Final Project Proposal (FPP)
          -Since the initial kickoff in February, the Science Replacement Final Project Proposal (FPP) workgroup has been actively engaged in a series of meetings to support early planning and project development.
          -The group completed its final meeting on March 27, concluding the program validation phase. Work focused on validating instructional and programmatic space needs, refining the space program and conceptual planning framework, and supporting overall project readiness for the State-required FPP submission.
          -The work completed will directly inform the development and submission of the Final Project Proposal for state capital funding.
     -Veterans Resource Center:
          -Construction is scheduled to begin March 30, 2026. Preparations are underway, including coordinated relocations:
               -Career Center will temporarily relocate due to HVAC impacts
               -Initial move to Lower-Level Library with Workforce Development
               -Final transition to the Learning Resource Center following minor updates
     -Portable Village 1 & 2 Refresh (including Temporary Restroom Building):
          -Project is underway. Facilities Management has secured a CollegeBuys state contract. Work is scheduled to begin after graduation (May 26, 2026). Minor HVAC upgrades may be completed earlier for select portables on a case-by-case basis, depending on scheduling availability and feasibility.
     -Natomas Education Center (NEC) Phase II & III:
          -Project completed on February 20, 2026. Notice of Completion has been issued. Punch list and warranty items are ongoing.
     -Business Services Office Remodel:
          -Project is in the final closeout stage. Purchasing has been notified to file the Notice of Completion.
     -Tech Ed Modernization:
          -Project is complete; punch list and warranty items are ongoing.
-Barnes & Noble 
     -Will be here the week of July the 6th with the store opening up the following week.
     -Store will be closed for a week for the transition from Follet to B&N
-Operations council will shift to a tri-chair model starting Fall 2026 with Sarah Lehmann stepping into the role of Faculty Tri-Chair.
-Discussed the request to have a celebratory finale for Davies hall prior to the demolition. It was determined that doing something like this would be possible.
