What should be included in the Dual Enrollment Project team charter? Angela Daroy The meeting focused on aligning institutional priorities around Dual Enrollment growth, student support systems, equity, and data-informed decision-making, while identifying key challenges affecting student success and outlining topics for future action.
A major emphasis was placed on the rapid growth of Dual Enrollment and the need for a structured, intentional project to ensure sustainability, quality, and alignment with the college’s Equity Plan and Vision 2030.
A project team will conduct a formal reflection and develop a clear vision and mission, with initial discussion scheduled for January and a projected timeline through December 2026. Broad stakeholder representation was confirmed, and feedback on shared documents is encouraged ahead of the January meeting

DISCUSSION ITEMS:
Question Person(s) Responsible Notes and Next Steps
How are Homebases connecting students to majors? Hannah Blodgett, Kaira Bradley Updates were provided on HomeBase services, which continue to connect students to majors through orientations, counseling, career exploration, and workshops. While activities are tracked through SARS, opportunities exist to improve centralized visibility and reporting. HomeBases are in the process of being merged, with relocation expected by the end of spring, though timelines and communication are still being finalized.
How can we use Data on demand to inform our work? Brenda Valles, Jonathan Newman The meeting highlighted the strategic use of Data on Demand (DOD) as a key resource for enrollment, equity, and program review data. Participants were encouraged to engage in trainings and one-on-one sessions to better leverage dashboards related to student demographics, course success, disproportionate impact, modality, and program-level outcomes. Equity-focused data analysis remains a priority, with ongoing gaps noted for some student populations.
Participants identified several student-centered challenges requiring attention, particularly related to Financial Aid, including confusion around grants, misaligned deadlines, lengthy SAP appeal processing times, and barriers for undocumented and ESL students. Technology issues in classrooms, limited training on new equipment, and concerns around basic needs (food access, health services, and reproductive health resources) were also raised. Collaborative workshops, improved communication, and enhanced support structures were suggested as potential solutions.
Brenda Valles encouraged those interested in engaging with data to schedule a 1:1 with Jon Newnam for training:
