-Martin Gomez & transfer center and how it works, aligns with new/returning students

- Having more info on accountability/advocacy
-HB co-location update, did not have it yet
-Tutoring/embedded tutoring, Marianne or Cesar brainstorming what imbedded models exist and how to bring them into spaces.
-Unit collaboration with Homebase

Q. Where is undecided - academics/home bases - new website page "Support for Undecided Students" connects students with someone to start conversation
Items from ELT Angela Milano
-Snapshot of last meeting: charter, faculty review, student purview. Doug Herndon was invited to attend.
Confusion with AI charter with Academic Senate- reclassed as resource group from task force . Resource panel should submit what's possible to SCC.
-Reviewed charter and current membership and positions. Language changed to reflect the new chair rotation.
-No other changes to duties
-Two changes to charter - added NSSSSP
Would you like to vote or reflect on changes

Would senate want to weigh in on balance of faculty representation? (Math & English/ESL). Senate might have feedback due to curricular changes in Math.
Angela - we could make that recommendation.
Agreed to move forward to ELT

Update on Homebase relocation David Mirmontes-Quinones
-Appreciation for feedback at listening sessions from Spring, Summer and Fall 2025
-HB launched with funding for 5 years. Co-locating due to funding.
-Current support for up to 3 physical spaces.
-Want to assure centralized locations that are accessible. Reviewed options and issues with each.
-MCT designed with HB in mind. So, leaning towards 2 locations:
* MCT
*LRC for balance of HomeBases, exploring options in building for visibility.
Decision is pending.
Concerns: Noise, ESL testing location.
-Goal: final decision by the end of September.
Move-in: Winter break 25.
Spring 26: transition planning, pilot pop-up model, launch co-located HomeBases in LRC.

Q. Is purpose for HB changing? (not major focused as originally designed, and 1-stop shop)
A. Will have support, orientation etc. as before.

Q. Could community rooms be used instead of LRC? Already close to student functions and social spaces.
Might eliminate the noise issue.
There is an issue with the social/engagement issue and better utilization or student union model.
