Campus Safety Updates | Capt Kelly Benitez | • A burglary occurred at the construction site, with a suspect captured on security video. However, their face was obscured by a hoodie, making identification difficult. • Five juveniles were caught shoplifting at the bookstore and were identified as living just across the street from the college. • A total of 1,600 parking tickets have been issued, with many citing "I didn't know" as their excuse. It’s essential to remind everyone that a parking pass is required on campus. • Concerns have arisen about non-students using campus facilities, particularly in light of the SCC case involving a registered sex offender who accessed the pool with underage children. Key points include: -As a state facility, we are required to allow public access during normal business hours. -There may be options to designate specific times or areas for public use. -Margaret will follow up on the legal implications and available space. |

Facilities Updates | Margaret Lednicky | AT&T Cell Tower at Stadium •The contractors will be working on the tower starting 10-30-2024. ARC Sand Volleyball •Project is on hold due to cost estimate of 2.5M. It will be submitted as part of the Master Plan for Capital Funding. Natomas Phase II & III •Project is 45% complete. Current submittal reviews are regarding paint and overall building finishes. Veterans Resource Center •Facilities Management mentioned starting the project in January 2025, but there is no confirmation. Margaret will reach out for an update. Tech Ed • Project is 82% complete. First phase of furniture is scheduled to arrive Nov. 11. Large equipment, such as the Dyno lift, are scheduled to install starting Nov.18. Automotive, Welding and the Home Base are planned to be open for Spring 2025 semester. The rest of the spaces will follow as the construction completes. Davies Fencing and PV3 •The design team reports that current manufacturers of modular restroom buildings, planned to go next to PV1, do not have any stock. Each order will need to be built. Current lead times show that modular restroom buildings will not be available until the 4th quarter of 2025. •The design team is now looking for portable restrooms on wheels, the type where sewage would have to be pumped out on a regular basis. •Campus re-iterated that the permanent fencing around Davies cannot go up until restrooms for PV1 are provided. |

All-Gender Restrooms | Margaret Lednicky |
•Discussed previous comment from the last meeting regarding people generally not feeling safe in ARC restrooms. There were several incidents of disgruntled students following faculty into restrooms however it appears there have been no new incidents since last year. •We are continuing to update the All Gender Restroom icons on our website maps. Some feedback comments are that the icons are too small. •The priority restroom locations to investigate changing and/or modifying to All Gender were Davies Hall 3rd Floor, Theater/Arts, Natomas. New priority restrooms have now been identified, especially since Davies has been closed. First priority is to investigate the restrooms adjacent to Dusty Baker. These are currently being used by our adapted students and their care takers; second priority is to investigate changing the 3rd Floor men’s restroom at the Library into an All Gender Restroom. •Discussion regarding the possibility of providing all gender, single use shower facilities. Suggestion was to connect with Basic Needs for further information. •Previous suggestion of visiting other All Gender restrooms around the City to help evaluate what we would like at ARC is no longer a priority. Would like to concentrate on investigating 3rd floor restroom at Library and convert into All Gender. •There is still a request for LRPD to attend the next meeting to discuss ongoing issues with restroom safety. •There is still a request for the PIO to attend the next meeting to provide feedback on the campus website map. All gender restrooms should be easily available on web – example shown https://codes.findlaw.com/ca/health-and-safety-code/hsc-sect-118600/ •Request to not advertise anything on All Gender restroom doors so as not to attract attention. People would like to use the restroom without any identification other than what’s needed by code. |

Davies Hall Final Project Proposal (FPP) Update | Koue Vang |
FM presented an overview of the FPP to the ELT on 9/30/24. Summary: • ARC is currently 214% overbuilt in classroom space. The state will not fund the project or permit any further overbuilding, with a maximum limit of 110%. However, the District will be submitting a proposal for the state to allow an increase to 180%, which would provide for 20 classrooms instead of the 42 that Davies Hall had. • Offices and labs are not impacted. • You can find the meeting recording on this link: Passcode: i810?TD? https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/component-page?action=viewdetailpage&sharelevel=meeting&useWhichPasswd=meeting&clusterId=us02&componentName=need-password&meetingId=7UbJPmfL_2mQ0-aH1wIBDwr4tj3LicW-V0SwGtw3TStJMqGTNhbnsnp81lo53MtS.kttoLL7RVjVzXOe8&originRequestUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fus02web.zoom.us%2Frec%2Fplay%2FkHYTt2tYdvM73xVJqqxP4kqdcuL1WJmWSIdbc2LruJMcTqnCij9NjbP9_9a_qOakpW-PStkOu2-7e87K.jFDMrnn4n_bZtIPw%3FcanPlayFromShare%3Dtrue%26from%3Dshare_recording_detail%26startTime%3D1727733851000%26componentName%3Drec-play%26originRequestUrl%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fus02web.zoom.us%252Frec%252Fshare%252F-uArSYcR7KNfCJ1BtR_gU3WdOX6YQG6SMXQC8JfCiVXDQdWp4GpVanVd9HDjTvcL.aPStYChvH9EjXrFO%253FstartTime%253D1727733851000 |

Difficulties in locating the various divisions on campus. | Mary Goodall |
Concerns have been raised about the challenges of locating the various divisions on campus.
