Welcome Nicole Porter
Charter Review. Please review the SSC Charter prior to our meeting. We want to orient ourselves to the charge and tasks we've been called to do and clarify any questions new (or current) members may have. Nicole Porter -VPSS and all VPs should be included in the charter’s membership (Marianne is updating this).
-We may need to review the entire document , as the Charter is up for review in 2025.

-Considering ARC’s new designation as an HSI, should the new director be added to membership?
-Should all directors should be considered for the Charter to ensure proper representation? This needs to be added as an ELT (Executive Leadership Team) agenda item.
-Ensure satellite locations are included for appropriate representation.

-Acknowledge and recognize students for their service contributions.
-Strengthen communication between the district and the campus. Constituents need regular updates—seek feedback via Beaver Bites. This also needs to be added to the agenda.
What do we want to accomplish this year? What questions, feedback, and topics would you like SSC to focus on for the fall and spring semesters (see attached)? What question(s) do we want to take back to our consituencies for input? Please complete the corresponding questionnaire and/or bring yours and your constituents' responses with you. Nicole Porter -Review of previous SSC meeting to identify patterns.
-Members offered the following as topics/ideas for consideration:
-Equity Framework
-SSC will bring in a professional to help support members’ continual development of our equity lens so we have a shared understanding of what it is and can apply it to the work we will be engaging in;
-Discussion on disciplinary measures related to AI and mental health.
-Need a cohesive discipline structure from the District Office (DO) down, with more guidance and policies (e.g., Title IX, grievance procedures) to ensure consistency.
-Promote College Hour to engage students in activities that foster stronger connections with the school.
-Update on implementing all-gender bathrooms.
-Immediate need for improved student access to technology (e.g. password recovery - not all students have individual gmail accounts, sometimes accounts are shared within family

What's to come?
