Topic Person(s) Responsible Notes
Welcome and introductions All
During introductions we were prompted to introduce ourselves and tell the group a way that we are effective.
Role of the Institutional Effectiveness Council Adam Karp
This was a brief item to introduce new council members of the purpose and scope of this group.
Governance calendar update for the 2020-21 academic year Adam Karp
Sharing the calendar of ARC's main governance groups to show how much is going on behind the scenes to promote our work.
Accreditation Project Team Kickoff and initial work and the role of the Institutional Effectiveness Council Adam Karp and Bill Simpson
Since Accreditation is part of what the IEC oversees along with Adams department, it was good to give an overveiw to this group. The official group for the team is ELT however.
LGBTQIA+ and API Project Teams Update Yuj Shimizu
There will be a strong need for assistance from the researchers to provide data to both of these teams. Updating the rest of the council will help them understand some of the conversations throughout the year.
Integrated Planning Update Adam Karp and Janay Lovering
Because of Covid-19 and working remote, all Integrated Planning for Spring 2020 was pushed back to Fall 2020. Alterations will also be made to the next cohort in a space that is usually left blank as we do our work on accreditation.

DISCUSSION ITEMS:
Question Person(s) Responsible Notes and Next Steps
What ideas does the Council have regarding the opportunities and obstacles associated with an institution-wide adoption of the ARC Equitable Decision-making Tool? Adam Karp and Others Nick shared this tool and the documentation behind it with this group, he worked diligently with PES and Cheri Jones to compile the data and give ARC a framework for making more equitable choices at all times.
What progress has the college made in the implementation of the adopted recommendations contained within the Institutional Equity and DI Project Team Plans since adoption in May 2020? How are these aligned with the active and/or proposed strategies associated with the two districtwide goals of closing the opportunity gap in course success and achieve a course success rate of 73%; and the gap associated with throughput in transfer-level Math and English Writing 300? How do we approach the scaled adoption of those specific strategies/actions that hold the greatest opportunity for broad, positive impact on these targets/goals? Adam Karp and Others As we have two more DI teams this year, we discussed the progress on realizing the recommendations of our previous DI and Equity teams. Many felt that there is a disconnect between what was prescribed and the outcome.
